Camptoo

Why do we at Camptoo care about the climate

The recognise the challenge. We are committed to doing our part to reduce our carbon footprint.

Camptoo is part of the wider sharing economy

The sharing economy gets the most out of our current assets. This includes renting and sharing motorhomes and encouraging more sustainable use.

Our tips for reducing your footprint

Consider longer, slower trips. Enjoy the scenery!

We know its tempting to clock up the miles on a longer trip but consider slowing down. Instead of driving through a small village or local site take the time to enjoy the local area.

There are a number of very special routes all over the UK including the North Coast 500. There is so much to see and enjoy on these routes.

Travel by rail as close as possible to your final destination

We would recommend travelling by train as close as possible to your travel  location. For example  taking the train from London to Inverness and picking up a campervan there saves a carbon footprint of 300kg compared to driving your own van the long route north.

Keep the speed down

Boring... we know. But lighten up on the accelerator. It makes a difference.

Solar panels

When you are  renting look out for campervans that have solar panels. You can go off the beaten track but also save energy.
