renting can be many times better than single use

The more an item is used the lower the carbon footprint per use - simple!

  • If a Mannequin has a footprint of 100kgs and you only use it for a year then the carbon footprint is 100kgs . By maintaining our product in first class condition we significantly extend the lifetime of the Mannequin. We have had some products for  over 10 years which means the carbon footprint per year is less than 10% of buying a new product and using it for a year
  • Of course if you are only buying a mannequin for a special event the carbon footprint is very high and it makes sense to rent

why rent?

Be part of the sustainable revolution.

Manufacturing anything new creates emissions. Especially for products you only use now and then, it makes more sense (for both your pocket, and for the environment) to rent instead of buy.

Save money.

Renting is cheaper than buying a mannequin - a great option for low-commitment, sporadic use's!

What Mannakin does as a business to reduce their carbon foot

Commitment to Sustainability

Commitment to Sustainability

Commitment to Sustainability

Roz and the team at Mannakin are committed to sustainability in everything they do. The business is founded on reusing products mainly through renting. While there are some new products for sale the team also sell recycled items and always encourage customers to pick the most sustainable option.

Efficient transport

Commitment to Sustainability

Commitment to Sustainability

Mannakin are based in the UK and where possible ship in the most environmentally friendly way. Where practical loads are sent in bulk to minimise transport journeys. Given that new Mannequien´s are often made in China the carbon cost of shipping them to the UK is high compared to local sourcing of rental products.

Carbon data Sources

The calculations for the carbon footprint of the different items has been based on the CO2 emissions per kilogram of different types of materials and products. These are high level estimates and should be treated as guidelines

It is not a Life Cycle Assessment.  A detailed Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) will give a more accurate number and incorporate additional factors. While an LCA can provide a more specific carbon footprint the basic principles we have applied are still valid.
